Vail Mountain is heading into its final days of the season with an unexpected boost from Mother Nature. A late season storm delivered approximately 12 inches of fresh snow, providing a strong and scenic finish to a winter that demanded resilience from both teams and guests alike.

This season brought periods of challenging conditions, fluctuating weather, and long, demanding days on the mountain. Through it all, Vail Mountain teams delivered memorable guest experiences with professionalism, grit, and an unwavering commitment to the mountain community.

Despite the fresh snowfall, forecasted conditions mean Vail Mountain will officially close for the season on Wednesday, April 8. To mark the occasion, we have a lineup of end of season events celebrating another winter in the mountains.

A few updates on upcoming events:

  • Wednesday April 8: Closing Day Party at Avanti from 1PM-5PM with music, drinks and food
  • Thursday, April 9: Vail Après Town of Vail End of Season Bash at Checkpoint Charlie from 3PM-7PM
  • Friday, April 10 – Saturday, April 11: Après at the Amp will take place at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater

The combination of fresh snow, community celebrations, and a strong closing stretch highlights the spirit that carried the resort through a challenging winter.

“This season tested us in many ways, and I could not be more grateful for the dedication, resilience, and teamwork our employees showed every single day,” said Beth Howard, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Vail Mountain. “To our teams, thank you for showing up for our guests and each other. And to our guests, thank you for choosing Vail and sharing this season with us. What you all bring to this mountain truly makes it special.”
