Free and Low-Cost Preventive Health Screenings Offered on September 21
LEADVILLE – Lake County’s long-standing tradition continues as St. Vincent Health prepares to host the annual health fair. Community members and people from neighboring counties will
receive access to free health screenings and low-cost bloodwork, on September 21, 2024, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. Vincent Health at 822 and 816 W. 4th Street in Leadville.
Early detection and prevention of disease are the top reasons to attend a health fair. A secondary benefit is enjoying the camaraderie of Lake County’s tight-knit community as healthcare providers and the community come together for wellness.
The health fair is open to all – participants don’t need to be from Lake County to attend.
Low-cost bloodwork options include basic blood panel, thyroid, and diabetes panels, cholesterol, pre- and post-menopausal panels and more. Free screenings will include blood pressure, pulse oximetry, vision, skin, memory, and more.

Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm. Bilingual (Spanish/English) calls can be taken from 4pm-6pm, Wednesdays & Thursdays, starting August 14th. Spanish/English Interpreters will be available at the
fair to assist with registration and general health fair information.
Pre-registrants can choose an appointment time in advance. Fasting for 12 hours is recommended before bloodwork. Medical professionals will be on-site to offer advice and assistance and help participants to decide which screenings are right for them.
Each year, St. Vincent Health relies on the support of upwards of 70 dedicated volunteers to make the health fair a reality. Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to email [email protected].
Since the recent closure of 365Health, St. Vincent Health has partnered with It Starts With Me (ISWM). A leading health organization, ISWM brings expertise in registration and results reporting for participant blood screenings. The 2024 fair is also made possible by community partners such as Lake County Community Health Foundation, O’Rourke Media/The Herald Democrat, and the
Leadville Lions Club.
