Yes, you read that right, Copper Mountain Resort has been offering skiing and riding on real snow for 12 consecutive months. It all started with ski race training in October 2023, and the action hasn’t stoped at the Athlete’s Mountain. The resort officially closed for winter on May 12 and throughout May and June, local groups like Team Summit and Vail clubs continued to train on the upper mountain. The resort hosted Camp Woodward from May through August and has maintained a public hike park all summer long (June – September). There is still time for skiers and riders to get in their summer turns at Copper, the summer hike park officially closes on Sept. 8 and the final Woodward Summer rail jam event is scheduled Sept. 6 during the Union Peak festival, with spots still available for registration at Coppercolorado.com.

The resort expects to keep the momentum going with plans for ski racers to return to snow for training in October. The resort’s official opening for the winter season is scheduled for Nov. 8 2024. The ability for skiers and riders to continue their progression on snow year round, showcases Copper Mountain’s commitment to being the Athlete’s Mountain.
