The Avon Town Clerk’s office received and validated nomination petitions from seven candidates, including two incumbents, who have qualified for placement on the ballot for four open seats on the Avon Town Council in the November 3, 2026, election. Candidate names are listed alphabetically:

  • Rich Carroll
  • Justin Chesney
  • Gregg M. Cooper
  • Jennie Fancher
  • Alan Sandberg
  • Ruth Stanley
  • Frederick (“Rick”) Sudekum

Rich Carroll and Ruth Stanley are the incumbents on the ballot. The remaining seats up for election are held by Tamra N. Underwood and Chico Thuon, who are term limited. The order in which candidate names will appear on the ballot will be determined by lot drawing conducted on September 2, 2026, and the Avon Town Clerk will certify the ballot to the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder by September 4, 2026.

The election will be conducted as a coordinated mail ballot election administered by the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder. Ballots may begin mailing to active registered voters on October 12, 2026, and must be mailed no later than October 16, 2026. Absentee voter ballots are also issued by the County.

Voters who need in-person election services may visit the Eagle County voter service and polling center located at the Eagle County Commons, 410 Miller Ranch Road in Edwards. Voters may also return completed ballots using the secure 24-hour ballot drop box located outside Avon Town Hall at 100 Mikaela Way. The drop box will remain available through 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters are encouraged to verify their voter registration status and mailing address before ballots are mailed. Election information, local election updates, and voter registration resources are available through the Town of Avon, Eagle County Elections, and the Colorado Secretary of State.
