The Town of Avon invites the community to join us at the annual Sustainability Fair on Saturday, May 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sun & Ski parking lot. This free, family-friendly event brings together community members, local organizations, and sustainability experts for an engaging and interactive day.
The Sustainability Fair will feature hands-on educational demonstrations and resources highlighting best practices in waste diversion, water-wise landscaping, energy conservation, and more! Attendees can also enjoy live music by Al Maul, and free ice-cold beer and delicious food provided by Ein Prosit while supplies last.
New this year, the Electric Social welcomes attendees to view and compare a variety of electric vehicles and e-bikes, speak directly with EV owners, and learn how electric transportation can fit into everyday life. E-bike tune-ups and diagnostics will also be available from on-site retailers. This exciting new addition hosted by Walking Mountains is not to be missed!
Avon residents and business owners may bring their electronic waste, paint, household hazardous waste, and documents to be shredded, providing an additional opportunity to reduce landfill waste and responsibly dispose of unwanted materials. Proof of address must be shown at drop-off. For a complete list of acceptable materials, click here.
The Sustainability Fair also serves as the culminating celebration of Town Clean Up Week, which takes place throughout Avon from Sunday, May 10 through Saturday, May 16. Town Clean Up Week volunteers are encouraged to attend the Sustainability Fair to celebrate their efforts, with volunteer raffle prizes awarded during the event (must be present to win).
Join us on Saturday, May 16 to help us become Sustainable Together and reach our county-wide greenhouse gas emission reduction target of 50% by 2030 and 80% by 2050!
